11 Sep 10 How To Deduce If He Or She Is Lying To You

Being able to tell when somebody is lying is a great skill to have. It's actually a lot easier to learn than most people realize. There are some generalized ways to tell, and some person specific ways. You'll learn both ways in this article.

The broad ways are numerous, and vague. If you can, it helps out to look for three or four different indications before you accuse the person of lying out-and-out, or decide not to take them at their word.

Face Touching

When people finger any part of their face whilst chatting, it can be an indication that they are lying. Usually they will contact their eyes, their nose, or their lips. These will often be quick, unconscious movements. Be careful, though, as this may also be an indication that they are just anxious. Another indication of lying is excessive blinking. Normally speaking, people blink more often. This happens when they are in a position where frequent eye touching would be unsuitable. A politician giving a speech, or testifying under oath, for example.

Legs And Arm Crossing

When people cross their legs and their arms, it can be taken as a sign of being self-protective. Particularly if they are standing, with their legs crossed close to the ankle, and their arms crossed in front of them. This can be an suggestion of lying, or it could mean that they find what they are saying enormously offensive. You'll need to take the circumstance into contemplation.

Eye Contact

When people tell stories, it is very problematical to look somebody else in the eye and keep a straight face, so to speak. In this example, a straight face is all their facial muscles undisturbed, with no stress or twitching. The best liars can maintain eye contact while conversing right up to the moment of lying, and then even they will have to look away momentarily.

Calibration

This when you calibrate on an individual basis. This can be done with workers, spouses, offspring, anybody who you are in a relationship with that you fear may lie in the future. Just pay close attention to any specific body language or facial expression they make when you know they are lying.

This, of course, requires you let a a small number of lies slide by unchecked, but what they are doing is giving away their "tells," as they say in cards. Tells are automatic body movements and facial tics that card players exhibit when they are bluffing. When you have three or four "tells" together, they'll by no means be able to lie to you again without you realizing it.

Easily and logically employ your wonderful subconscious mind power with the easy application of nlp.
